Our activities programme is extensive. It includes:

• Daily check-ins on local, national and international news items.
• Exercise (no matter how minimal)
• Reminiscent therapy (through stories, memories, birthdays, etc.)
• Crafts, including knitting, basket weaving, dough craft.
• Fun games (i.e. getting ball in basket)
• Music and singing
• Bingo
• Horoscopes (with an emphasis on fun)
• Water colour painting
  

Since we opened our doors our emphasis has been on attention to detail for the best interest of all of our patrons. We encourage independence and autonomy with a sensitive and positive attitude. Morale of elderly patrons can be quite low for various reasons - disability, isolation, long-term inactivity, and an erosion of self-esteem with regard to underestimation of individual qualities, experiences and talents. Our emphasis on reminiscent therapy involving group discussions, support and recognition for each individuals experiences in life allows our patrons re-gain a degree of autonomy and respect for all present.
Our staff are energetic, forward thinking and encourage an up-beat attitude within the day-care center which in turn encourages a sense of positivity rather than apathy and isolation.
